Trees
Given Away on Arbor Day
Published in the April 2003 Your Home Flyer.
The
Metro South Chapter of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association
gave away 1,000 five to six ft. trees on Arbor Day, which was
Friday, Feb. 21.
The
distribution point was at Walker Nursery on Walt Stephens Road
in Jonesboro.
Making
this giveaway possible were the following builders:
Peachtree Homes, The Knight Group, GT Communities, Tim Jones Communities, Mayfield
Homes, Edson Homes, Signature Communities, David Martin Homes, MNW
Homes, Koppar Corp., Cliftwood Homes, Oxford Homes and Hudgins Communities.
Prior
to the project, The Clayton and Henry County Commissioners passed
a resolution declaring Feb. 21-28 Plant-A-Tree Week in Clayton
and Henry Counties. The resolutions were presented to Hugh Morton
and Chris Knight of the Metro South Chapter.
The
Metro South Chapter, which serves builders in Clayton, Henry
and South Fulton Counties. The chapter has 200 builder members
and is part of the 4,100 member Greater Atlanta Home Builders
Association. The organization's theme for 2002-'03 is "Building
Champion Communities -- Together." The home builder association
